About This Site
My name is Ron (Ronnie) Bearden. This site delves into the various areas of my interest.
My favorite past-time is N scale model railroading. I published my first article in 1987 and am now approaching 100 articles. Most of my writing has been for N-Scale Magazine.
I am a Global Methodist pastor serving in the Alabama / Emerald Coast Conference.
I have a Ph.D. in Communication from Regent University. My primary research interests are Rhetoric, Narrative, and Preaching. I have served as an Adjunct Faculty member of several schools, including, Spring Arbor University, Huntingdon College, Brewton-Parker College. This area of the website is primarily to provide support materials for the courses taught.
About the name- U18B- most people don’t know what that means. The U18B is a small locomotive made by General Electric (that orange locomotive in the header is one). For some reason, I have always been drawn toward this locomotive. I saw many of them from 1987 until around the mid-1990s when CSX began retiring them. But more than that- it reminds me of God. He loves small things that most people don’t value.
